LG Acknowledges G4 Booting Loop Issue

Users who experience the restarting loop after booting their LG G4 can breathe a sigh of relief– LG has acknowledged the issue and announced the release of a fix for affected G4 owners.

Back in September of 2015, LG was inundated with emails, Twitter complaints, and Reddit posts from users who found that their G4 would fail to boot properly and then restart, ultimately bricking the device. Users were unable to fix the issue themselves because, as it was revealed today, the issue was caused by a loose connection inside the device.

From LG:

“Customers who are experiencing booting issues with their LG G4s should contact their local carrier from where the G4 was purchased or a nearby LG Service Center (www.lg.com/common) for repair under full warranty. Customers who purchased their G4 devices from non-carrier retailers should contact an LG Service Center with the understanding that warranty conditions will differ.”

The defect came to light after a petition asking for LG to formally acknowledge and comment on the issue gathered nearly 1,250 signatures from angry users.
