AT&T announces nationwide release of 3G MicroCell!

AT&T, The Nation’s Fastest 3G Network, has announced the nationwide relase of their latest device, the 3G Microcell.

So, what is the AT&T 3G MicroCell? It is basically a miniature cell tower for your home or place of business. By connecting it to your DSL or Cable Broadband internet modem it connects to AT&T’s infrastructure and you can make calls and use 3G internet on your cell phone, on up to 4 devices simultaneously!

Now this isn’t a new technology, but this is the first nationwide deployment of such technology by a major carrier. Now how much will this cost? By itself, it will cost $150. If you love the iPhone but AT&T does not have optimum coverage in your area, this is a small price to pay for 5 bars of coverage over 5000 sq. feet. In addition, there will be a service availiable to add unlimited minutes on your plan while calling over the 3G MicroCell for $20 per month. If you opt for this plan, there will be mail-in-rebate of $100, making the net cost of the 3G MicroCell $50!
