Sony Ericsson Vivaz Announced!
Sony Ericsson has been on a roll lately! Today, Sony Ericsson made a surprise announcement regarding their latest phone, the Vivaz. It’s kind of a stange name, but this is a strange phone. It serves as the flagship video-camera phone in their lineup, and it is quite impressive.
As one can clearly see from the photo, the main attraction here is the obvious video camera on the back of the phone alongside the “HD” logo. Yes, Vivaz can record High Definition video – at 720p to be precise! In addition to it’s fantastic video recording capabilities, it can also shoot 8.1 megapixel still shots with its 4x digital zoom. It also boasts built in Auto-Focus, Face-Detection, LED Flash, Geo-Tagging, Image-Stabilizer, and Smile-Detection! So it is a great companion for anyone who loves to take pictures and video.
But what else can Vivaz do? It has all the other normal function one would expect from a cell phone running Symbian S60 5th Edition- GSM connectivity, a gorgeous 16:9 3.2″ touchscreen display that can display up to 16 million colors, aGPS, Email, FM Radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth, etc. Also, the Vivaz will be availiable in several colors: Moon Silver, Cosmic Black, Galaxy Blue, and Venus Ruby.
Expect to see this phone brought to the market within the next 3 months, according to Sony Ericsson. If the Vivaz is priced competitively, I think it will be a very desirable media phone. Hopefully it will be subsidized through AT&T, even though Sony Ericsson usually likes to sell their phones unlocked. Stay tuned for more on the Vivaz and other Sony Ericsson devices!
